Bacterial buildup begins under your gums, that is why you will feel our hygienists cleaning under your gums. Sometimes the teeth and gums may be sensitive and may bleed due to the amount of bacteria under the gums, and may require local anesthetic so we can throughly cleanse your gums. Your comfort is most important to us.
After your cleaning, you may experience thermal sensitivity, bleeding, and some tenderness. Please continue to floss and brush daily gently and everyday you do this, your gums will be less sensitive, and the bleeding will subside. By the 2nd to 3rd week of daily home care, these symptoms will be gone.
